About Sanctuary Ridge Golf Club (Clermont, FL)
Billed as "Florida's Mountain Course," Sanctuary Ridge is located in Clermont and noted as one of Orlando's most unique courses. This thrilling Terry LaGree design is built on the state's second highest location and features dramatic elevation changes of up to 150 feet, with no parallel fairways... sometimes, it's all uphill - sometimes it's all downhill! You'll enjoy memorable, panoramic views on every hole. Featured are elevated tees, escalating fairways and large, multi-level greens, lots of bunkers - virtually no water coming into play. Easily accessible from all of Orlando's major network of roads, this club is a great choice from any hotel in greater Central Florida... average travel time is approx. 30-35 mins. Rated 3.5 stars by Golf Digest's "Best Places to Play," this track should not be missed. Great value!

Julia A. (Beverly Hills, FL) says:
This was without a doubt the most challenging course we played and probably my favorite. The ups and downs made the course fun and exciting to play.

Richard (Enfield, CT) says:
We played this course many years ago and it was terrible. There has been a VERY POSITVE transformation to a facility we would be happy to come back to.

Michael (Glencoe, IL) says:
This course is an incredible bargain compared to many of the courses in the greater Orlando area. I loved the elevation changes and thought the course was very challenging, especially for the opening round of the trip. It was also quite picturesque. The greens might not be in as good as condition as the "prime" Orlando courses and the fairways may not be as "pristine", but I would play this course again in a heartbeat.

Dan (Topsham, ME) says:
Very under-rated course. Every hole is different. The staff is flexible and pace of play good.

Truly a mountain course! Really! Who knew such a thing existed in Florida?! Great change of pace. Really enjoyable. Challenging but not punishing. Definitely would go back.

Kenneth (Danvers, MA) says:
Quite a golf experience though facilities were average. Layout is terrific with every hole different and roller coaster terrain. Had to plan every shot and use every club in the bag. Conditions were firm and fast so side slopes had maximum effect. Fairways had dry spots, rough minimal and bunkers very good. Greens were average in speed which was good considering the big undulations.

Adam (Middlebury Center, PA) says:
This was the one course that sticks out. Checked in and had the carts right there for us. Staff was friendly, told us to head out whenever we were ready. Range was nice along with putting green. Course played well, very challenging holes to start out with. The Par 3 with the 100 ft drop was amazing to try and figure out what club to hit. Big change with the layout from the flat courses we had played to that point. Some great views from the tee and fairway. Playing the back tee's made it that much more exciting to play. For being as dry as it seemed, the course played well. Definitely would play again if given the chance. A lot of memorable golf was played at this course.

Doug (Holland, PA) says:
There are a few other hillier courses up in that area that we would try, possibly. Very interesting contrast to the rest of the trip. The first 13-14 holes were cool...the last 4-5 were a little too tricked out.
